Berkley Holiday Lights Parade
Greetings:
The Berkley High School Marching Band will once again be performing in the Annual Holiday Lights Parade on December 7. The parade begins at 5:30 pm. Please review the detailed notes below and email Mr. Thomann if you have any questions.
Saturday, December 6
5:00 pm | Student Report Time | Location: 3280+3270 Cummings Street - Attendance will be administered at this time.
5:05 pm | Setup Parade Block
5:10 pm | Warm-Up
5:20 pm | Wait for Parade Official Instructions
5:30 pm | Parade Begins
Uniform
The students will wear their marching band uniform. Each student is required to bring home a marching band raincoat the day before the parade. Please wear clothes that help you stay warm under your uniform. All students must wear black knee-high socks and their black marching band shoes. Students are also responsible for taking home their shako (marching band hat) and shako box home the day before the parade.
Student may decorate their instrument and uniform with lights. Students may choose to wear a holiday hat.
***An email will be sent out the day before the parade informing students if they need their marching band raincoat e.g. it is raining or snowing.
Drop Off Location
Parade Route
The parade route begins near Cummings and 12-mile road and ends at Beverly Blvd. two blocks past the city hall. Students are dismissed once they are done with their portion of the parade route. It has been communicated to me by parade personal that the BHS Marching Band is the first marching band in the parade lineup.
Pick-up - Quality Foreign Car Service Parking Lot
Tree Lighting
Everyone is invited to join City Hall at the end of the parade route for the annual tree lighting ceremony. Hot chocolate and donuts will be provided. It is not mandatory that marching band students stay for the tree lighting.
Important Drop Off/Parking Information
Marching Band participants must utilize Catalpa or Wiltshire roads to park their cars or be dropped off and then walk to the student report location. Please note that 12-mile road may be blocked.
